Our Impact
Distribution of menstrual kits to South Sudanese girls
Despite the hope and desire for education, our students experienced numerous challenges, such as a lack of school supplies, adequate space, and other essential materials.
Due to a lack of dignity kits/hygiene kits, our female students faced menstrual period challenges. It’s a big challenge when anyone is on their period, they would just be absent from school.
A warm-hearted group of people from the United Church of Christ in Midland Michigan USA members decided to help these vulnerable female students with hygiene kits.
They funded the project to support South Sudanese female students in Ulang County, South Sudan and it became a successful project.
We express our deep gratitude to the United Church of Christ, especially to the women, for their help to female students. Many of our students have never had access to such products, and we thank you immensely.

Taidor’s story
A dedicated teacher at Gin
It’s been nearly two years since we launched the adult literacy program in Ulang, South Sudan, and despite the challenges, we’ve continued to push forward.
Just the other day, a student joyfully told me he had applied what he learned in class to sound out a word he couldn’t read before. His smile was all the assurance I needed that I’m doing the right thing, serving others, and helping them realize their potential.
Many of my students say they hope to pursue further education and employment after completing the program. They’re fully committed to mastering basic reading skills to make those goals a reality.
